Your brand is essentially the feeling that your business evokes in your audience minds. It is more than a logo or product, your brand shapes how people perceive your business and how they remember it. Your brand also communicates to people the unique value your business offers.

Clarity

A strong brand communicates the intended message clearly. It’s important that you communicate the intended image you want customers to perceive, rather than giving them the wrong message. Apple is well known for its simple and clean design, and its focus on creating user-friendly products that “just work.”   

Memorability

In order for a brand to work effectively, it needs to be memorable. It needs to stay in the customer’s mind. McDonalds with its yellow and red branding, did an ad recently #RaiseYourArches without saying a word, just the M on a yellow post it note, instantly you knew it was Mcdonalds. Powerful.

Your brand tells people what makes your offering unique among your competitors and the most ideally suited for them. This aspect of uniqueness also means you don’t have to appeal to everyone. Tesla is known for its focus on electric cars, cutting-edge technology, and its founder Elon Musk’s unique persona.

Connection

All strong brands make an emotional connection with their target audience. People identify themselves through the brands they like. It’s just as much a part of a person’s identity. If your brand gets inside your customers’ heads and elicits an emotional response, they’ll identify with it and remain loyal. This is what motivates the buyer to buy. Disney is a known favourite for its magical and nostalgic storytelling that appeals to people of all ages.

Credibility

A strong brand is consistent. It never strays from the customer’s expectation. Like an old friend, it’s always there giving them the same message. In this way, your brand establishes your business credibility in the customer’s mind.  Amazon is known for its reliable and convenient online shopping experience, and its commitment to customer satisfaction.

Timeless

The best brands are timeless, they endure and stay relevant for years or even decades to come. Coca-Cola created in 1892, you can find that brand in the most remote village in the world. Its an excellent example of a brand that has remained relevant and popular for over a hundred years.
